Roman Galadza Obituary, Death Cause –It was Roman Galadza doing the deed. Beginning on the 19th of April 1943 and continuing until the 1st of August 2023 He passed away at home in the comfort of his family after what was mercifully only a brief battle with illness. He was surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Irene (nee Bishko), his children Anastasia, Larisa (Kenneth Cronin, of Ottawa), Nikolai (Jacqueline O’Connell, of Vancouver), Sofia (Adam Zimmerman, of Brooklyn, NY), Valentyna (Graham Park, of L’Anse-St.
Jean, Quebec), and Ilya (Sarah Cronin), as well as his grandchildren Finnian and Before he was even born, both of his parents, Theodosia and Mychailo Galadza, as well as his sister, Olga Chermak (+Boris), had already departed away. Fr. Roman was born in the city of Bilokrynytsia in the Ternopil Oblast of Ukraine before his family moved to the United States in 1949. Before that, the family lived in the Ukraine.
He spent his childhood in the town of Ambridge, which is located in the state of Pennsylvania. It was there that he became interested in marching bands and participated in juvenile baseball leagues. Both the Catholic University of America in Washington, District of Columbia, and a seminary in Stamford, Connecticut, contributed to his education. He graduated from both institutions.
In 1969, he wed Irene, and not long after that, he moved to Toronto, which is where he eventually became ordained as a priest by the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the Eparchy of Toronto. He moved to Toronto in the same year that he tied the knot with Irene. In 1976, Father Roman relocated his family to Brampton, Ontario, where he subsequently created a new parish of the St. Elias the Prophet Ukrainian Catholic Church. Prior to it, he had served in various parishes in the areas of Toronto and Welland for some time.
