The squat-worthy secret to Tokyo Vanitys dramatic transformation Tue 8 February 2022 15:07
It may be her chosen rapper name, but Tokyo was seriously playing on her Vanity – much to the delight of fans – when she revealed her sudden weight loss transformation.
The curtain has officially dropped on why the Love and Hip Hop star looks so different, and it all came down to two gym visits a day, multiple squats and running, with the help of a personal trainer.
Nope, it wasn’t spitting bars that helped her achieve her new look (although that may have played a part, too). And weight loss doesn’t mean she is on another level – as she revealed she was happier at a heavier size.
Tokyo Vanity reveals weight loss
While most fans have just started noticing Tokyo’s weight loss on Love and Hip Hop, she actually first shared her transformation with the world in January 2022.
Claiming she has “so much more to go”, the star seems more motivated than ever to continue working on dropping the weight. Back in 2020, Tokyo had reportedly lost around 50 pounds in total, and now it’s looking like way more.
Tokyo has even revealed that, since she dropped her weight loss pictures to social media, she’s had several men in her DMs asking to take her for a walk. She wrote:
Y’all I done uploaded my weight loss pics now all the men in my DMs asking me on walking dates, that’s so cute.
The rapper is continuing to shed the pounds on her weight loss journey, and we can’t wait to see it!

Tokyo enlisted the help of personal trainer Body by Ted, when he tasked her with lifting, squatting and running under a program on his website BigGirlzMove.com. One of her recent work-outs involved an arm weights exercise.
Just a day ago (February 7th), she shared a video alongside her trainer and jokily said that the move is what she does “before I have a show or go to the club in case I have to fight one of y’all”.
She has also been eating healthier foods alongside her regular exercise regime. This has sometimes included hitting up the gym more than once a day and trying to stay motivated.

Tokyo challenged the stigma that weight loss equals happiness. She knows all too well that dropping pounds doesn’t necessarily mean she will feel happier, but she seems to have a newfound confidence.
When a troll pointed this out, she responded by referring to the transformation pic [above] featured on IG:
I was actually happier on the left than I am on the right so I really don’t get your point.
Her fans had her back during the ordeal. One praised her always loving herself no matter what size she is.
They wrote: “Crazy part about true self love is that you love and embrace yourself at every stage and transition, you appreciate yourself at every phase. And you’ve always shown that.. people be weird and projecting.”
Another agreed with Tokyo and said: “Yea, being small doesn’t mean you’re automatically happier. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and I’m so much happier with my body!“
